The Man Cave

Unfortunately in England, you can’t be outside 100% of the time and sometimes have to retreat to your Man Cave. Here you can read about DIY, Music, Entertainment and VW Transporters!

Timeline: Science and Discoveries I originally bought Timeline: Music and Cinema a few months ago and absolutely love it. The simple rules make this game super easy to play with anyone and anywhere. You have to lay your Music and Cinema themed cards in order of release date. The only goal is that you have to get the order correct in the timeline. The cards come in their own tin, making it easy to transport and so far, we…

As you may have seen in some of my other garden posts (here and here) my back garden was in a totally, unkempt, baron state. Obviously, my first concern was sorting the house out. However, once I was happy with that, I moved onto sorting out the garden and putting in a second off road parking space out the front of the house. These things not only make life nicer but also add value to the house –…

On one side of my garden was a long, dirty, scruffy looking, grey wall (I think it was originally white?). It made that whole part of the garden look nasty and I’ve been keen to sort it out for a while. With a wire brush and a tub of white masonry paint I quickly sorted the wall out. I then added a nice Japanese style border in front of the wall, which I’ll go into in greater depth…

Summer has finally arrived and last weekend we decided to make the most of this glorious sunshine. We arranged to meet up with a few friends on our local beach. So in preparation we thought it would be the perfect occasion to try out our new ice cube tray and 3 piece Ice bucket by OXO.   The ice cube tray is so practical. There are two trays made of silicone, making 24 ice cubes in total! You…

When last April I bought my house, the garden really wasn’t a Chelsea Flower Show winner. It was a good size for the house but it was very unloved. This was super cool though as it was a totally blank canvas and had loads of scope to pop my green fingered print on the place and add some extra value to the property. If you read this site regularly, you’ll have noticed I have a love of outdoor and…

I’m lucky enough to love my job but I love my free time and the weekends even more! We really try and make the most of our weekends. I think you’ve got to really jam them full of fun and make sure you’ve made loads of new memories. Here are a few of the awesome things we’ve been getting up to recently…   Hangloose Adventure I’m a bit of a thrill seeker, and am always up for trying out…

I bought my house over a year ago and looking back now at the photos of how it used to look and the renovation make me really happy and proud. It was very outdated and needed renovating in every single room. The kitchen was the worst offender and I even needed to replace the water pipe than ran in from outside. However, with a little (a lot) of help from my friends and family, we got the place ship…

I love holidays! I holiday so, so well. I could be a professional holiday taker. Luckily, a week ago, I had just over 2 weeks of glorious holiday. As I said, I’m good at holidaying and did a great job. We had an amazing fortnight and got up to loads and loads of great stuff. As you may have already read, we went to Snowdonia, did a lot of walking, had an amazing time and summited lots of mountains.…

As you might expect when we moved in and renovated and then decorated the house, we concentrated on the most important rooms. The kitchen, lounge and master bedroom were the obvious priorities, where as the spare room ended up a bit of a ‘nothing room’. It has a built in wardrobe, sofa bed, some Edward Gorey prints on the wall and tends to hold lots of outdoor gear, which will eventually go into my shed (when I get round…

As I’d had so much success tiling my kitchen’s floor, I decided to get my tiles from Tile Mountain again. They were great quality, well priced and delivery was fast and all of the tiles arrived in A1 condition. After much research and contemplation, I decided to go for their Metro White Wall Tiles on my walls. These tiles look modern, yet classic in a brick bond formation. I was sure I wanted something that looked cool and…
