Three on Thursday – Calvin Harris

It’s all been quite rocky so far on Three on Thursday, so I thought I best try and mix it up a little bit with some dance/club music. Where else to go than Calvin Harris. His album 18 Months is pretty much wall to wall hits. It’s very chart, very club, very dance which isn’t always my cup of tea. But given the right place the right time, it definitely hits the spot. Three on Thursday – The Joy Formidable

Three on Thursday has been a bit of a sausage fest so far, so I thought i’d try and get some girl power going. Don’t worry not the Spice Girls, just some quality Welsh alt rock from The Joy Formidable. I love their vigor and big, but intimate sound. Great to listen to while doing anything fun and exciting.   The Joy Formidable – Cradle   The Joy Formidable – This Ladder Is Ours   The Joy Formidable – Whirring

Three on Thursday – Beck

This week Beck is up for Three on Thursday. He is an American, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. I’m not a massive fan of all his work, but he has some absolute jems. I like to listen to him when cruising around in the van.   Beck – Loser   Beck – E-Pro   Beck – Gamma Ray

Three on Thursday – The XX

After last weeks Rap Metal fest that was RATM. I thought i’d strip it down a bit this week with The XX, they are an English indie band from London. They are fantastic, I prefer their first album over the first but that’s only because the first album is pure perfection and the 2nd could never quite live up. Their albums are best listened to on your bed, in the dark, with headphones. Perfect chilled out music. If I…
