\nShaun of the Dead<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Shaun of the Dead is the pin up for all comedy horror films, this is because it stays true to both genres and manages to balance the comedy and the horror.<\/p>\n

It’s the first film in Edgar Wright and Simon Peg’s ‘Cornetto Trilogy’ which I had never even heard about until my brother told me. The Cornetto Trilogy is Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End. Apparently they are called this because each of the films features a Cornetto!<\/p>\n

It’s a great zombie movie but it’s also funnier than 99% of comedy films. I think Shaun of the Dead is Simon Pegs best film although I haven’t seen The World’s End<\/em> yet. This film is so funny and so quotable because of Edgar Wright’s and Simon Peg’s fantastic screenplay.<\/p>\n

Tucker and Dale vs Evil<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

This is not a very well known film but an absolute smasher of a comedy horror, with a very original take on a not very original plot.<\/p>\n

Tucker and Dale of two Hillbillies and a group of American cliche teenagers. This may sound fairly familiar, but it is not. The over done concept is flipped on it’s head, when the group of teenagers accidentally get themselves into trouble and spying the redneck duo, assume it must be their fault.<\/p>\n

I wont say much more as I don’t want to spoil the film, but this is just as good as Shaun of the Dead or Stitches.<\/p>\n

Stitches<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

This film stars the one and only Ross Noble, now i’m a hardcore Noble fan so am a tad biased, but I think this film rocks. Stiches is a grusome grisly comedy with Ross employing his perfect comic timing as Stiches the clown who returns from the dead to haunt the people who caused his death.<\/p>\n

Stiches is definitely the goriest film on this list. The effects are awesome especially considering the films relatively small budget. I really enjoyed how creative and funny some of his methods of execution are.<\/p>\n
