\nAfter we had settled into our room we set out on an epic London day out. First stop on our tour was Camden Market for shopping and most importantly – lunch! I absolutely love Camden, it’s so cool and has great shops and food stalls. I really like picking up cool odds and ends there to kit out my van. This time I got my hands on some cool ethnic style fabrics to deck out the back of my van.<\/p>\n

\nFor lunch we struggled to choose where to eat. The huge selection of stunning food stalls made it so difficult to make a choice, so instead we bought two lunches and ate half each! We decided on Japanese Tonkatsu and traditional Italian Calzone. I wish I had four stomachs like a cow so I could try all the amazing food on sale at Camden.<\/p>\n

For dessert we found this great little stall selling about a billion (slight exaggeration) different types of doughnut. We both opted for a 12 inch chocolate swirl! I thoroughly recommend that if you visit Camden Market you keep your eyes peeled for these doughnuts as well as the Tonkatsu and Calzone sellers!<\/p>\n

\nOnce we were thoroughly shopped out and had eaten our own body weight in street food, we waddled all the way back to the underground and made our way to South Kensington to have a look around the Science and V&A Museums. I loved the Space section of the Science Museum, it was amazing to see all actual space suits and equipment in person. It was fascinating to learn all about how astronauts live day to day in space. I found how they overcome all the complication that zero gravity produces absolutely astounding.<\/p>\n

I also really enjoyed looking at this Seven-toed Cat too!<\/p>\n

\nAfter we had burned off all that beautiful Camden food whilst walking around the museums, filling our noggins with scientific knowledge and culture, we headed off for more festive frolics this time down a little lane called Oxford Street. We wandered down the road checking out all the amazing Christmas lights and extravagant window displays. <\/p>\n

My favourite shop windows had to be John Lewis’ who had hoards of penguins playing with stock from all their different departments! The lights looked fantastic in the darkness and it was so awesomely Christmassy! <\/p>\n

\nWe made our way down Oxford Street towards Marble Arch because we were heading to Hyde Park and the Winter Wonderland… Clearly we weren’t the only people in the big city with this plan as Winter Wonderland was absolutely rammed. There was a huge queue outside and we waited about 30 minutes to get in. Once we were inside, us and thousands of other people meandered around the sights and sounds of Winter Wonderland. <\/p>\n

\nAs per usual I honed in on something edible and we made our way into a tradition German Sausage shop for some dinner! Once we had had our fill of sausage, festivities and the crowds we made our way to the underground to head back to our hotel at Westminster Bridge. Getting off the tube at Westminster we were greeted by Big Ben once again although this time lit up in darkness!<\/p>\n

\nAfter an awesome first day in the big smoke we arrived back at the hotel with grins on our faces and achy legs from all the trekking. We decided that the remedy to this problem was a dip in the hotels swimming pool and a trip into the sauna, luckily the facilities at the Park Plaza are open late so we were able to take advantage of all they had on offer even after a long day out and about.<\/p>\n
