\nFor the last almost 100 years Falmouth has been lacking a brewery. Yes, there are some great breweries nearby, but Falmouth deserves its own. The good people at Black Rock Brewing have stepped up to the plate, or should that be pint?<\/p>\n

Putting the actual drink to a side for a moment, I love the Black Rock brand and how it reflects their hometown. Black Rock is a cluster of rocks hidden beneath the surface at the entrance of the Fal estuary, half way between Pendennis Point and St Mawes. Their simple logo is symbolic of this:<\/p>\n

\nTight lines – good times is Black Rock’s slogan and is so good in fact, I think I’m going to adopt it for my life! <\/em><\/p>\n

Lots of their brand design is available for you to browse on their tumblr page, here<\/a><\/strong>. (I also spied a rather tasty looking T4 in one of the photos, which makes me love them even more!)<\/p>\n

Now enough about vans, fishing and Falmouth; on to the ale! Fortunately Black Rock’s Pale Ale lives up to all their brilliant branding – It is ale awesomeness.<\/p>\n

It is brewed in small, hand crafted batches and you can really taste the quality. It has a crispy, fruity hop flavour, a gorgeous golden colour and a slight citrus nose. It goes down a treat, it’s the sort of beer you could sup at all evening while feathering with your friend for some mackerel at Pendennis Point, overlooking this fine beers namesake.
