Last weekend, our friends were camping in Sennen and invited us to join them. Although the weather wasn’t in our favour, Mike and I decided to brave the elements and head down to Trevedra Farm Campsite. The location is fantastic; Sennen Cove is very close by and it is a short drive to Lands End. I’d definitely recommend asking to pitch in the bottom field as it is closest to the coastline and has the best views.

After settling in, and helping our friends put up their awesome, old school canvas tent, we decided to take their puppy, Billy, for a walk. We headed down through the bottom of the campsite, over the stile and followed the path down to Gwynver Beach (it took less than 10 minutes to get there).

Billy was thrilled as this beach allows dogs on, even without a lead, all year round. He was able to enjoy the beach as much as we did. Even though the sky was grey, the sea was still a tropical blue; just beautiful! It was a little too choppy for swimming, so we just had a wander to the rocks below the cliffs at one end of the beach.

I had taken my new
Fjällräven Re-Kånken Backpack"" for its first outing and absolutely loved it! What is really cool and special about this rucksack is that it is a reworking of the original design from the 70’s and is now made from recycled plastic bottles. And when the bag is really, really old, it can be fully recycled too.

I was thankful for the side pockets as my water bottle slotted in perfectly. The bag is a fantastic size for carrying quite a lot of essentials for the day – lunch, camera, wallet, phone, keys, jumper etc, and was very lightweight so easy to take out for hours.

There is a back pocket inside the main compartment, which has a very useful seat pad. This helped to stop the items digging into my back and would also be great if I wanted to sit down on something comfy. As well as the main compartment, the bag has a smaller zipped pocket at the front, which not only provides storage and easy access for smaller items, but adds to the retro design.

The next morning, after some yummy egg baps, we left the campsite for Porthcurno. This has always been one of my favourite beaches. It was a bit cloudy, but very warm. We took the dog for a walk along the steep footpath, heading up to the Minack Theatre. The views here are just spectacular and provided amazing scenery for us all.

After admiring the sights above the beach, we walked onto the sand ready for a swim – throughout the walk, the water had looked so enticing. Mike popped on his wetsuit but as I am clearly more hardcore, I went in wearing just a bikini! It was absolutely lush and pretty cold. The waves were amazing and perfect to practice my belly boarding skills. I caught some of the best waves I have had all summer. It was so much fun and I didn’t want to leave. (I’ll hopefully add some more pictures of us in the water soon).

I had left my things on the beach as I enjoyed the swell, but luckily the bag is such a bright colour, I was able to see it clearly from the sea. I love how vibrant the bag is and the fact it is such a statement accessory. Since this journey, I have used it for both work and pleasure as it is the perfect size and style, and it has already received lots of compliments already. I’d definitely recommend the
