Buying a used Bike.

I recently decided to get into cycling a bit more and buy a mountain bike. I wanted something that was half decent but didn’t want to spend a fortune. (I don’t think it’s ever really a good idea to spend a fortune on a new hobby) So trying to save a pretty penny, I opted for 2nd hand. It is tricky buying a used bike as you end up having quite a limited selection to choose from, after you’ve…

Three on Thursday – The XX

After last weeks Rap Metal fest that was RATM. I thought i’d strip it down a bit this week with The XX, they are an English indie band from London. They are fantastic, I prefer their first album over the first but that’s only because the first album is pure perfection and the 2nd could never quite live up. Their albums are best listened to on your bed, in the dark, with headphones. Perfect chilled out music. If I…

Fishing Rhymes and Ancient sayings

When my buddy and I are out on our kayaks fishing we like to make up fishing rhymes in the style of;   Red sky at night, Shepherd’s delight.   Here are a few off the top of my head:   If the winds in the west, The fishing’s the best.   If the suns in the sky, You’ll be having fishy pie.

After a few festivals i’ve got a few solid gold tips. It would be a crime not to shame them, so lets go, BOOM: Wet wipes are your god now – at the end of my first ever day at my first festival my friends and I were sitting around admiring our ‘tans’ then on closer inspection, we all realised, this wasn’t sun kissed skin, it was dust covered, dirtyness. Wet wipes are the quickest and easiest way to sort…

Swimming with Dolphins

Now I wished I owned one of those super cool waterproof sports cameras (I mean GoPro), but I DON’T. But I do love seeing videos by people who DO own them. Stunning shots of dolphins taken from behind a boat in Santa Cruz:

National Trust – Glendurgan

I’m a National Trust member, I mainly joined to make use of the free parking at their many beaches. However I do like to take the odd walk round one of their establishments. Glendurgan is a great morning or afternoon out (you’d be stretched to spend all day there) It’s a nice walk down through the well maintained gardens to Durgan beach (you do have to walk back up though) Oh and did I mention – IT’S GOT A FREAKING…

Three on Thursday – Rage Against The Machine

After last weeks chilled out selection I thought i’d “turn up the volume and rip the knob off” with some Rage Against The Machine. They are an American, rap metal band who formed in the early 90’s. I love their intensity with which they express their political views and their integrity, I listen to them when i’m working, feeling angry or driving (they probably increase the speed a bit)   Rage Against The Machine – Killing In The Name  …
