Skullcandy Grind Wireless Bluetooth Headphones Review

I’ve been on the lookout for some new headphones and I have finally found the perfect ones. The Skullcandy Grind Wireless on-ear bluetooth headphones from The Board Basement really are awesome. Bluetooth headphones have been around for a while and have always been a great idea but now with most of the latest smartphones ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack all together, they’re becoming a necessity. So what do I really like about the Skullcandy Grind Headphones?

Firstly, they sit very comfortably on the ears due to the soft, plush material of the ear cushions; you kind of forget you’re wearing them. They are so much more practical than earbuds which always tend to fall out of my ears. And there is an adjustable material-covered metal band which really does help the earphones feel secure every time I wear them. The design gives a retro feel which I really love; they just look very smart everywhere I go, plus they are lightweight, so are easy to transport too.

Being Skullcandy, I knew I could trust the brand to produce some good sounds, and these have definitely not disappointed. The sound quality is fantastic and due to the ear-pillows surrounding the ear, any outside sounds are soon drowned out. Every song comes through loud and clear – what I always want from a pair of earphones. Skullcandy have really pulled it out the bag.

These headphones are even better than others I have worn as they are wireless which suits my on-the-go lifestyle. They run on Bluetooth technology, so once your device is on, they are ready to go – no wires tangling, no pulling, no hassle. Plus this feature helps make them look even more stylish.

I have had Bluetooth/wireless devices in the past and to be honest, I was a little worried that the headphones would run out of battery quickly, especially as I know I would be using them very regularly and for long periods of time. However, the battery life has impressed me greatly.

Skullcandy claim that the headphones will play music for up to 12 hours. During my use, they’ve managed to last almost this long and if I had them turned a down a little bit they probably would have lasted the full 12 hours. This is really important as you don’t want a pair of headphones with weak batteries which spoil your listening experience. They contain powerful rechargeable batteries which charge quickly when you do occasionally run out of juice.

On the back of the right earpiece there is a volume and track control. This really does make for super ease of use and a fun way to listen to your favourite tunes or watching movies. There are only three buttons but they can do everything you need. You can hold the circle button to power on and off and press it quickly to pause. What is more, the plus and minus symbols can be held to go forward and back tracks and pressed to turn the volume up or down. This is awesome when you have your device in your pocket as you can adjust your listening without having to fiddle about with your phone.

A final great feature of the headphones to mention is its phone call capabilities. On the left hand earpiece, the Skullcandy Grinds have a built-in microphone which works remotely for calling. Basically you can use these as a bluetooth, wireless headset so you can answer and make calls without taking the headphones off. Overall, I’ve been really impressed with these Skullcandy Grind wireless headphones; they have a bundle of features and work flawlessly all the time. They sound brilliant which is the most important things but also connect and work perfectly with every device I’ve tested them with.
