This weekend just gone, we went up to Bristol to see something I’ve been wanting to watch for years: The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. We were going up on Saturday to stay for a couple nights in the area and watch the 6am mass ascent on Sunday morning. As we travelled up on Saturday I was a little worried as the Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning take offs had all been cancelled as the weather was too windy. I…

You may have read about my trip to Salamanca last year, well this is a second post all about one particular visit to Salamanca’s famous Cathedral. There are in fact two cathedrals in Salamanca, the ‘Old Cathedral’ and the predictably named ‘New Cathedral’ (or in Spanish ‘Catedral Nueva’). What is pretty cool and convenient is that both of the cathedrals are connected, so when you visit them, you do so together.   Back in 12th and 13th century,…

This is a bit of a catch up piece about a trip I made with work, way back 2015. I had an awesome time and took some great photos I’ve been meaning to share with you all. Enjoy.   One day back in October, while I was at work, I got an email from a collegue asking if I was free in a couple weeks. I was really confused, so I phoned them up to find out why they…

My GoPro mount collection is growing a little bit more with the addition of the Camkix GoPro Bobber, a floating hand grip which is suitable for all GoPros. I’ve also bought a CamKix GoPro Body Mount Bundle which includes a chest harness mount, head strap mount and rotating wrist mount. I tested the Bobber and Chest Mount out this weekend while stand up paddleboarding and kayaking (with my Fatyak Kaafu) and thought I’d write a little review about my…

The Flymount is the latest addition to my growing collection of GoPro mounting solutions. This is the best mount I’ve seen for attaching your GoPro (or other action camera) to cylindrical objects (that’s the posh word for tubes!). This weekend I decided to put my new Flymount through its paces with my friend and his Yamaha Grizzly Quad Bike. Originally designed almost 10 years ago for use as a mast or boom mount for windsurfers, the Flymount has evolved…

My Springer Spaniel Rufus loves a trip to the beach. The huge plain of sand, pools of sea water and loads of doggy friends to make, mean he always has a great time! His and my favourite beach to go for a walk on has got to Perranporth. It’s great for dogs and is so big you can happily let them off the lead so they can have a great big run without having to worry about other beach…

Kennal Vale is a gorgeous piece of Cornish woodland made even better by a dramatic river running through and deep undergrowth. Throughout the reserve the remains of a granite gunpowder mill can be seen, scattered along the wooded slopes. It’s a really fantastic place to go for a wander and to take some photos, so much so that most of the people that you see at Kennal Vale either have a camera or a dog. On a particularly cold…

We went down to view the 51st Mousehole Lights tonight. A lovely little festive roadtrip in the van to gaze at the brilliant displays! I wont waffle on too much as I took the camera and tripod down so have managed to take some half decent photographs. Enjoy: P.S. For more information on the lights click here.

I’ve recently bought myself a new Olloclip 3-in-1 for my iPhone 5c. You may remember back last year I wrote a review for my 4s Olloclip, I thought it was a great, simple, easy way to get really cool photos on your iphone. Fortunately, the Olloclip for the 5c is just the same. I’ve already given this new Olloclip a good test and it lives upto its predecessors. The photos are all equally awesome. There are just a couple…

The weather has finally started to dry out and is, at last, looking a bit less winter and a bit more spring! After work on Friday, a good friend and I decided to seize the opportunity to enjoy the Cornish outdoors in the fine weather by going for a bit of low key shoot. It’s the sort of thing I love, a great chance to get out in the fresh air and catch up. I took my new Jack…
