My girlfriend and I recently went on a little mid-week trip to London. We ended up doing lots of free (or very cheap) activities. We weren’t trying to save money, it’s just that lots of the best things are free. Bravo! Here is a quick photo-list of some of the awesome and cheap things that we got up to.   Rent a Boris Bike It costs just £2 for 24 hours, which allows you to ride any Boris Bike…

You never know when you’re gonna be out later than expected. That’s why I always keep a ton of gear in the back of my van ‘just in case’. There are literally a million reasons why you might get caught out somewhere and end up staying later or needing extra supplies: You’re invited on a really cool night out. The van breaks down and you’re stranded (you obviously don’t have a VW) Blizzards and tundra appear and leave you…

So you’re either Cornish or on a trip down to Cornwall and have a special date on the horizon, but what to do? Here are a few ideas: 1. Go for a romantic walk on a beach – Cornwall is stacked to the rafters with perfect beaches, for a easy going, chilled out, Cornish date, a walk on the beach has got to be top of the list.   2. This week I was lucky enough to go on a little road trip up to Weston Super-Mare to the Sand Sculpture Festival. This years theme was Movies and Cinema. The selection ranged from the spectacular to the very good. I was particularly impressed with the sheer size of King Kong and the awesome work on the face of Ron Weasley. Check out some pics (they sure beat my sand castles): Jurassic Park King Kong Jaws Harry Potter Toy Story

This time last year I had a pay as you go, uber basic phone. Now I have an Iphone and land in the pathetic category of having no idea how I’d survive without it. Here are a few of my favourite apps for people that enjoy the outdoors:   Night Sky – You point it space and it tells you what you’re looking at! Awesome.   BBC Weather – The best weather APP, intuitive, fast, easy to use, clean and…

About a month and 7 years ago I went to my very first proper festival. It was Download Festival at Donington Park 13-15 June 2006. Two friends and I traveled all the way up country for hours on the train to come and rock for the weekend. It was awesome and we went again for the next 3 years. I saw Deftones, Tool, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Stone Sour, Funeral For A Friend to name but a few. By the…

My girlfriend the T4 and I recently took a road trip up to Thorpe Park. It was an awesome day, we met up with some of my friends who were Theme Park regulars and were able to act as our guides and make sure we got the most out of our day. We managed to go on all the big rides at least once, often then queing up to go again in the front seats. My favourite rides were:…
