Food Review – Fuel located in Falmouth

Falmouth has a fine selection of places to eat. This weekend my girlfriend and I went to Fuel to have lunch and check it out.

They had a very good menu with a nice selection of slightly posher than pub food. Prices ranged from about £7.50 for a classic burger with chips to £14 for 1/2 a piri piri chicken. My girlfriend chose a cheese burger which was served on a Baker Tom bun and was “the best burger she had ever eaten” which is really saying something as she must have had a burger from most places in Cornwall.

I decided to choose something from the specials board – a steak sandwich. It was exquisite and at £9 very reasonably priced. The sandwich also contained red peppers, an onion marmalade and cheese. The marmalade and cheese were delicious and the red pepper added a beautiful crunch. It was served with very well seasoned fries and a very nicely dressed side salad.

I can’t remember all the drinks, but they did have Ratler on tap – which is always a win in my opinion. After our meal we moved to a sofa and finished our drinks and played some of their fine board game selection including Guess Who and Connect Four. The staff were fast, polite and fun, pretty much everything you could ask for.

So if you fancy a nice chilled out and relaxed meal which is pub priced and restaurant standard, then I thoroughly recommend Fuel.
