I recently decided to get into cycling a bit more and buy a mountain bike. I wanted something that was half decent but didn’t want to spend a fortune. (I don’t think it’s ever really a good idea to spend a fortune on a new hobby)
So trying to save a pretty penny, I opted for 2nd hand. It is tricky buying a used bike as you end up having quite a limited selection to choose from, after you’ve chosen preferred prices, brands, etc and worked out what size you need. I used ebay, gumtree and the local paper when looking for a bike.
Anywho after I found a bike that looked suitable, I went over to the sellers house to check it out. I didn’t know what to look for when inspected a used bike, but after a bit of googling I came across this video, which I think is really useful. (I didn’t go to town quite as much as the guy in the video, after all I was looking at a cheap 2nd hand bike.)
